Tens of Thousands of Protesters Rally Against Macron’s Government in Paris

Tens of thousands of people rallied in Paris, France, on Saturday, May 26, to voice their opposition to President Emmanuel Macron’s reforms of the public sector. The demonstration, which attracted about 32,000 protesters according to conservative estimates, was led by 60 trade unions and political parties under the banner of “popular tide”, Le Monde reported. The protesters rallied on issues including: university reforms, status of railway workers, salaries of Air France personnel, asylum and immigration law, and police violence, the newspaper reported.
