The royal banking commission will today hear how the Commonwealth Bank treated business customers after it brought Bankwest a decade ago. Several former Bankwest customers have made submissions to the inquiry, but only a few will give evidence during its public hearing into small business lending. The royal commission previously rejected claims the CBA had an ulterior motive to systematically default business loans after its acquisition of Bankwest in 2008.
