Civil Defense Rescues People From Flooding in Dominican Republic

Flooding inundated parts of the Dominican Republic on Saturday, November 18, as a storm system brought heavy rain to the country. The country’s emergency operations center confirmed 29 provinces were under alert for flooding due to heavy rainfall, including eight provinces under red alert. Video released by the Dominican Republic’s Civil Defense (Defensa Civil Republica Dominicana) shows rescue operations in the city of Azua in Azua province, which was under red alert as of Saturday. Local news reports said the rain had caused rivers and streams to overflow their banks. Credit: Defensa Civil Republica Dominicana via Storyful
