French lake dries up due to winter drought

At the foot of the French Pyrenees, Lake Montbel is known in the region for its turquoise waters, massive size and thriving aquatic life. But the postcard landscape has in large part been replaced by a muddy wasteland, as exceptionally low rainfall keeps the body of water from filling up.
