Cheers as Kyrgyz Rescuers Pull Woman From Rubble Alive a Week After Earthquakes

A crowd cheered as rescuers from Kyrgyzstan pulled a woman alive from rubble in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, on Monday, February 13, a week after deadly earthquakes struck the country. Footage posted to the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Emergency Situations YouTube page shows rescuers pulling the woman out of rubble from a collapsed building and transferring her into a waiting ambulance. Rescuers can be seen clapping and cheering as the woman is carried to the vehicle. The rescue reportedly took place a week after earthquakes devastated parts of Turkey and Syria. By February 13, the death toll from devastating earthquakes in Turkey and neighboring Syria had climbed to more than 37,000, according to reports. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16.
