‘Branch Managers’: Pair of Eagles Work Together to Build Nest in West Virginia

Two bald eagles worked together to build a large nest at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services’ National Conservation (USFWS) Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Video posted by the USFWS on Thursday, February 23, which that said was filmed in late January, shows the two birds using their beaks to place a stick in their nest. The USFWS joked “this bald eagle family needs you to stop scrolling and watch as they perform their branch manager duties.” USFWS said the nest was first built by an American bald eagle couple in 2003 and has been continuously used and maintained since. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
