Qld payroll tax ruling could put more pressure on GP clinics

A new payroll tax could force Queenslanders to pay up to 15 per cent more at the doctor. The changes are likely to place more pressure on an already struggling system, as GPs predict more clinics will close and bulk-billing will become a thing of the past. At least five regional towns in Queensland are without a GP. Doctors are pleading with the state government to waive the tax for struggling practices.
