Zero Visibility in Buffalo Area as Arctic Front Overtakes New York

An Arctic cold front brought snow, gusty winds and “a rapid drop in temperatures” to parts of New York on Friday, December 23, according to the National Weather Service. Stormy conditions brought visibility to zero at the Buffalo Airport, the NWS said. This footage was taken Friday in Lancaster, east of downtown Buffalo, according to local resident Ashley Bukowski who posted it on Twitter. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
