The Indiana State Police warned drivers to stay off the roads near Lowell on Friday, December 23, as blowing snow created hazardous white-out conditions. The National Weather Service warned of the adverse conditions and reported several interstate routes were closed due to “treacherous travel conditions and numerous wrecks” on Friday evening.
