Reignited Left Fork Fire Creates Smoky Skies Over Bryce Canyon National Park

Smoke loomed over Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah as high winds contributed to the reignition and growth of the Left Fork Fire on Sunday, June 19. The fire, burning west of Bryce Canyon in the Dixie National Forest, was estimated to have grown to 600 to 700 acres amid high winds and red flag conditions on Sunday, according to the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. The fire, which originally began in May, remained at 10 percent containment on Sunday as extreme weather conditions hampered firefighting efforts, including grounding aviation support, according to officials This video, posted to Facebook on Sunday, was filmed at Bryce Canyon.
