Multiple Victims Reported After Knife Attack in Israel

At least four people were killed in a knife attack in the southern Israeli city of Beer-Sheva on Tuesday, March 22, according to medics who responded to the scene. The incident happened at around 4:15 pm, in a busy shopping district in Beer-Sheva’s southeast suburbs, according to Israel’s national ambulance service, Magen David Adom (MDA), which released this footage showing emergency services at the scene following the attack. MDA said a 40-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 60-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and a 40-year-old woman were taken to Soroka Medical Center. The Zaka emergency service later said four people were killed, in addition to the suspect, whom they said died at the scene. Israel’s foreign minister Yair Lapid posted a message of condolence to the families of the victims. Videos shot by bystanders showed the moment the suspect was confronted by a man, wearing blue, and fatally shot by another bystander. According to the Times of Israel, police said the man in blue was a bus driver who was aiming a gun at the suspect. Credit: Magen David Adom via Storyful
