‘Very disappointing’ the French sub deal wasn’t handled more ‘astutely’

Labor MP Meryl Swanson says it is “very, very disappointing” the French submarine deal wasn’t handled more “astutely” by the Morrison government. US President Joe Biden told French President Emmanuel Macron the deal was dealt with in a “clumsy” manner in a meeting in Rome before the G20 summit this weekend. “I think that what the President of the United States has said is actually really very kind in describing it as clumsy,” Ms Swanson said.
