‘Bang’: Chimney at UK Power Plant Demolished

The chimney at the site of a power station in the area of Fawley, England, came tumbling down on Sunday, October 31, as a demolition team imploded it. Peter Henley posted this footage to Twitter, saying, “That was a BiG bang.” Local authorities said the "half a century old tower, which was 198m [roughly 650 feet] high, was gone in seconds.” The controlled demolition was carried out to facilitate the creation of a new development in the area. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
