President Biden Receives COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shot

President Joe Biden delivered remarks and received his COVID-19 vaccine booster dose on camera on Monday, September 27. Video streamed live by the White House captured Biden’s statement before he sat down to receive the shot. According to the White House, the FDA and CDC recommended that those who received the Pfizer vaccine and are age 65 and older, at high-risk for severe COVID, or are frontline workers can go get their booster at least six months after receiving their second dose. The additional dose would “increase people’s protection as we fight the Delta variant and try to end this pandemic,” the White House said. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
