Drone Footage Shows Blackened Terrain Around La Palma Volcano in Spain

Drone footage posted by the Canary Islands Government Emergency and Rescue Group on Sunday, September 26, shows scorched land and smoldering ash in the areas near the erupting Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma, Spain. According to official reports, the volcano remained highly active as lava and ash continued to spew on Sunday, a week after it began erupting. The Canary Islands Volcanology Institute said risk analyses were being carried out and stations would be installed to collect and control the ash fall following the volcanic activity.
