Vivid Lightning Flashes Over Milwaukee

A tornado-warned thunderstorm packing damaging winds barreled through Wisconsin late Thursday night into Friday morning, July 29, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee reported. Video shared to Twitter by Carlo Rosillo shows vivid lightning flashes in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. “I think I just captured Thor coming to earth,” Rosillo joked in the tweet. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
