Evacuation orders were in place on Tuesday, June 29, as more than 900 personnel fought the Lava Fire in Northern California’s Siskiyou County. As of Wednesday morning, the fire had grown to 17,591 acres (27 square miles) and was 19 percent contained, officials said.
