Impact of the end of JobKeeper not as ‘negative’ as expected

Small Business Australia’s Bill Lang says the impact of the end of JobKeeper has not be as “negative” as expected but there are still many businesses needing help from the federal and state governments. “I think one encouraging thing is compared to how many small business owners were thinking a couple of months ago, with respect to what they thought might have to do, that it hasn’t turned out … to be as bad as it looked like it could be,” he said. “But there are still many that are struggling given the industries they’re in, the size of their business and the location of their businesses. “The good news is it hasn’t been as negative as the research a couple of months (ago) was indicating it was going to be but there still are a group … probably in the 100,000 plus that still need direct help”.
