Man escapes high speed crash

A man has escaped a shocking crash after his car – which he was driving at high speeds along a quiet road – collided with a parked car before flipping and sending both cars crashing into a block of units. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon and the driver of the Corolla was taken to hospital in a stable condition. Emergency services were quick to respond, however, the rescue was very difficult. NSW Fire and Rescue Inspector Chad Wallace said the technical rescue was the most complicated he had seen in his 20 years of experience, “and definitely the most complicated we’ve seen here in Wollongong.” The building was left with significant structural damage.
