AGL Energy announce major restructure

AGL Energy has announced a major restructure which will split its coal fired power business from a carbon neutral business. AGL has struggled with falling wholesale electricity prices and over the past year its share price has dropped 40 per cent. The coal business alone would be Australia’s largest electricity retailer and would include all of the company’s coal fired power plants while the carbon neutral business would include gas fired power, solar, wind and energy.
