Thousands Gather at Presidential Palace in Tribute to Diego Maradona

Fans of Diego Maradona stayed late into the night outside the presidential palace in Buenos Aires on November 25-26, as preparations were made for his body to lie in state there until Saturday. Maradona died the day before, aged 60, prompting fans around the world the mourn the soccer great. Three days of mourning were declared in Argentina. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
