‘Sinkhole’ Traps Truck in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs Following Heavy Rain

A truck driving through Double Bay in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs sunk into a large hole that formed in the roadway on July 28 following heavy rain in the city. Sam Hosking, who works locally for The Agency, filmed this video showing the truck’s front wheels lodged into the deep “sinkhole” near the corner of Bay St and Knox Lane. Local media reported a tow truck was attempting to pull the truck out of the hole following the incident. Weather warnings remained in place in New South Wales amid flooding and damaging winds.
