Heavy Winds Lash Galveston as Hanna Hits Texas

Hurricane Hanna brought heavy winds and high surf to Galveston on July 25, as the storm barreled straight for the Texas Gulf Coast. The hurricane officially made landfall around 5 pm on Padre Island, Texas, carrying maximum sustained winds of 90 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
