Size of US riots ‘hard to describe to Australians’

Sky News contributor Michael Ware says “it’s very hard to describe to Australians just how enormous” the riots across the United States are. The violent demonstrations that have spread over more than 30 cities broke out after the death of unarmed black man George Floyd, who was killed by police. “I can’t recall anything like this ever happening in Australia,” Mr Ware told Sky News. “This is north to south, east to west,” he said. “There are 36 cities that are essentially ablaze. “And I’m sitting here right now 2,471 kilometres away from the street where poor George Floyd died and I’m in a state of emergency.” Image: AP
