ASX feeds off slowing COVID-19 infections

It was a volatile start to the week on the ASX which jumped one per cent at open before dropping into negative territory, only to rise again. The positive news of the slowing COVID-19 infections in Australia gave the market a boost in early trade. Australia’s banks have also agreed to extend the six month deferral of loans to an additional 30,000 businesses.
