Coronavirus declared a ‘global health emergency’ as nine cases confirmed in Aus

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the novel coronavirus a global health emergency, confirming it has escalated into an unprecedented outbreak. More than 170 people are confirmed dead from the outbreak in China and there are more than 8,000 cases confirmed in the country. The WHO Director General said the virus – which has spread to 18 countries – posed too great a risk beyond China.
