Smoke shrouded the sun and sky as a number of out-of-control blazes burned around popular holiday destinations in Victoria’s east on December 31. Seven emergency warnings were in place for the East Gippsland region by mid-morning on the Tuesday, with holidaymakers forced to evacuate to foreshore areas to escape the flames. This footage, filmed at Bindi on December 31, shows bushfire smoke filling the surrounding areas.
