Mobile phone detection cameras to be switched on in NSW from December 1

November 29, 2019. NSW Minister for Transport and Roads Andrew Constance speaks in Sydney about the commencement of mobile phone detection camera. Mr Constance says the cameras will be turned on from December 1 “so drivers get the message across this state to not touch the phone whilst you’re driving behind the wheel of a car”. He says drivers are allowed to use cradles and bluetooth, but cannot put the phone up to their ear, or rest it on their lap on speaker. (AAP Video/Michael Wade)

Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
