"If exporting pollution was an Olympic sport, Australia would be winning a medal," he says. Bandt also says Scott Morrison is failing in his number one duty. "The number one duty of a government should be to protect its people, and instead, Scott Morrison is putting people in Australia at risk by cuddling coal, and by continuing to be the third largest exporter of pollution in the world. "Scott Morrison is increasing the risk of bushfires and is increasing the risk of them being more intense when they happen. It is time to declare a climate emergency and start to phase out coal."
