‘Three in four economists’ expect interest rate cut on Tuesday

Ernst & Young Chief Economist Jo Masters says “about three in four economists are expecting a rate cut” when the Reserve Bank meets on Tuesday. Ms Masters told Sky News there were “a lot of moving parts in the economy at the moment and monetary policy always looks at a range of tradeoffs”. The RBA is tipped to slash the cash rate to 0.75 per cent, after reductions made in June and July failed to make a significant impact on the economy.
