‘River’ of Floodwater Streams Through Lawn in Peoria, Illinois, During Heavy Rain

Four to six inches of rain fell across Peoria, Illinois, in a 24-hour period, causing widespread flooding on Friday, September 27. According to local news reports, the storm swept across the northern half of Peoria and Woodford counties, and the area could see one or two more inches before the system moves out of the region. Roads were closed and police and fire crews had to conduct water rescues along University Street, the report said. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
