US President Donald Trump has left the door open to re-negotiating a nuclear deal with Iran. "I think Iran wants to get this situation straightened out. Now, is that based on fact or based on gut? That's based on gut. But they want to get this situation straightened out. And they're really hurting badly," Mr Trump said. Speaking at the closing news conference at the G7 Summit in Biarritz, Mr Trump said he also held out hope for a renewed trade deal with China. China extended an olive branch to the United States for a “calm resolution” to the escalating trade war between the two economic titans. Welcoming China's step in a tweet, US President Donald Trump said “great respect for the fact that President Xi and his representatives want calm resolution”. Image: AP
