Review called into ‘added sugar’ label on food products

Australia's health ministers have ordered a review into health labels and will investigate whether "added sugar" should be included on all relevant products. The review - called for by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand - will look at introducing the measure following the final report reviewing the Health Star Rating System. If mandatory labelling is enforced consumers would see 16 teaspoons of added sugar on the label for a 600 mill bottle of Coca-Cola.
