Police discover an underground “cave” of stolen property in Lane Cove

Supplied video obtained September 1, 2019 of police vision an Aladdin’s cave of stolen property at a home on Centennial Avenue, Lane Cove. Investigators located an elaborate “cave”, under the building, which also included one rainwater tank which was converted to a bedroom, another which was in the early stages of established as a hydroponic cannabis setup. There was also an array of shelving systems being used to store more than 250 items of property – including electrical, sporting, garden equipment and power tools – which are alleged to have been stolen from storage units at Pyrmont and Sydney CBD. Police will allege in court a 42-year-old man man, who was a building manager at the apartment complex, was residing in the cave, using it to store stolen property, and was in the process of establishing a hydroponic set-up to cultivate cannabis. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
