Melbourne’s Federation Square heritage listed

Melbourne's Federation Square has officially been heritage listed, enshrined as a cultural icon of the CBD and protected from large-scale changes. The move follows a heated dispute over the demolition of one of its buildings last year. The 17-year-old tourist attraction will join the likes of the MCG, St Patrick's Cathedral and Flinders Street Station as heritage listed Victorian landmarks.
