Indonesia’s Komodo island to be closed to public

Indonesia's Komodo island will be closed to the public from January in an attempt to conserve the world's largest living lizard species. The plan will also involve moving about 2,000 villagers off the island for about 12 months. There are an estimated 1,700 lizards left on the island but that number is reportedly rapidly decreasing due to poaching and large visitor numbers. Image: AP
