A task force with the Indiana emergency responders loaded up on August 30 for a trip to Florida to provide assistance in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian. This video was posted to Facebook from Indiana’s Urban Search and Rescue task force, which is “comprised of emergency responders from Public Safety and Private Sector agencies trained to respond to local and national emergencies.” “Indiana Task Force #1 departs for Hurricane Dorian. The team will travel straight through to Florida tonight and tomorrow. 80 Task Force members and 6 Contractors left at 7:30 PM tonight.” the post said. As of 8 pm on Friday, Dorian was about 400 miles east of the northwestern Bahamas and about 575 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
