Family Escape Theater as Police Confront Odessa Shooting Suspect

Five people were killed and more than 20 others were injured in a mass shooting in the West Texas cities of Midland and Odessa on August 31, police said. A gunman opened fire on people as he drove through the streets and highways of the two cities, before he was shot and killed by an officer, authorities said. The attacker was described as a man in his thirties but police did not immediately provide additional information about his identity. The incident began at a traffic stop, police said. Three police officers were shot, according to authorities. This footage was posted to Snapchat by Adriel Rivas, who told Storyful he evacuated the Odessa Cinergy Theater with his family as police confronted the shooter. Other footage posted to social media shows people fleeing the theater, as well as people lying on the ground outside. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17.
