Minister for Families and Social Services Anne Ruston told Sky News “it is in the best interest of the child and the community” to vaccinate children. New figures show 500 children are being vaccinated each day and the number of 5-year-olds who are fully vaccinated has hit a record high of 94.85 per cent. Ms Ruston said once children get to school-age or childcare-age, that’s when the realisation to vaccinate children often occurs due to more exposure to other children, or enrolling restrictions. The government is hailing the success of the 'No Jab No Pay' approach, linking family benefit payments to vaccines.
