Sydney apartment block labelled a ‘public risk’

A Sydney apartment block is been labelled a 'public risk' after residents were allowed to illegally move into the building. The developer of an Alexandria apartment block reportedly failed to carry out 'extensive construction work' while the City of Sydney attempted to have the building demolished due to safety concerns. The report follows revelations that apartments in Zetland and Erskineville were both abandoned over contamination and fire safety concerns. The Alexandria building marks the fifth Sydney apartment block in the past year to experience serious building defects.
