Plibersek has no knowledge of Bitar or Abib’s lobby against inquiry into Crown

August 1, 2019. Shadow minister for Eduction, Tanya Plibersek speaks to the media in Canberra saying she has no knowledge of whether Carl Bitar, a former National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party who works as an executive for Crown Limited, or Mark Abib, a former Labor minister who works for James Packer's company, lobbied Labor members to vote against a parliamentary inquiry into Crown Casino. Ms Plibersek says hasn't heard from them in a "very long time". The Law integrity commission has limited powers and can't question former or current ministers regarding ministerial conduct.
