Littleproud says Inspector-General for Murray-Darling will be "a tough cop on the beat"

August 1, 2019. The Minister for Water Resources David Littleproud speaks to reporters in Canberra announcing the federal government is appointing an Inspector-General to oversee the governance of the Murray-Darling basin. "This will be a statutory position, one that will report to me and the Murray Darling state ministers," Mr Littleproud says. "It will be holding to account the Murray-Darling basin authority, the commonwealth government and state governments," he states. "He or she will have the power to compel evidence".
