Chinese Firefighters Rescue Five-Year-Old Dangling From Building

A five-year-old girl was rescued by firefighters on July 19 after she fell through the guard rail of a residential building and was left dangling by her head in Quannan County, China. The girl became stuck when she was left home alone after her mother went out to buy food, AP reported. This video shows Jianxi province firefighters carrying out the dramatic rescue. A post to Weibo from the Jianxi Fire Department said the girl was hanging from the fifth floor of the building. They said a group of firemen were able to rescue the girl by descending from the top of the building using cables, while others broke into the locked apartment. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia.
