Hail Pounds Raleigh Drivers Amid Thunderstorms in North Carolina

Evening thunderstorms delivered large hail to Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday, May 31, the National Weather Service reported, battering cars and homes. Video posted to Instagram shows hailstones raining down on vehicles on a North Carolina highway, triggering car alarms. Earlier on Friday, forecasters warned that large hail and strong winds would hit central North Carolina. By evening, social media users confirmed the arrival of hail storms, posting photos showing chunks of ice ranging from the size of quarters to the size of golf balls. Police Detain Person at Moscow Memorial for Navalny

Police in Moscow were seen detaining at least one person at the “Wall of Grief,” a monument to victims of political persecution, where a vigil to Alexei Navalny was set up on Saturday, February 17. Video filmed by Russian media outlet SOTA shows police detaining one person near the monument and carrying them away. Navalny was reported dead by Russian Russian authorities on Friday, February 16. Authorities said the 47-year-old dissident fell ill and died in the prison colony where he was detained. According to Meduza, more than 150 people have been arrested at protests and gatherings in memory of Navalny across Russia. International media reported several journalists were arrested in Moscow and St Petersburg after Navalny’s death was announced.
