Mohamed Noor’s trial jury retires to consider verdict

A jury in the US has retired to consider its verdict in the murder trial of the police officer accused of killing Australian woman Justine Damond. Mohamed Noor is facing murder and manslaughter charges, after the 40-year-old Sydney life coach was fatally shot in Minneapolis in 2017. Ms Damond had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault behind her home before police arrived and fatally shot her. The Prosecutor claims Noor's decision to shoot her was a 'tragic event of his own making’, while his defence team argue he had ‘no other option’ to save his partner’s life.
