The man behind the songbook of Australian television, Geoff Harvey, has died aged 83. Born in the UK in 1935, Mr Harvey moved to Australia in the early 1960s and went on to make an undeniable influence on Australian television history. Colleague and friend Ray Martin has described Mr Harvey, known as the Maestro of Midday, as 'amazing' and 'a one-off character', saying 'I'm sure anyone who knew him, will think kindly of him tonight'.
