A drug resistant strain of malaria has spread from Cambodia across south-east Asia, putting potentially millions of people at risk from the disease. About half of the world's population is at risk of malaria, but some of the drugs used to treat it have started to fail. Doctors are now scrambling to develop alternative malaria treatments.
