Sri Lankan contractor charged over blueprint to attack ‘symbolic’ Sydney locations

A Sri Lankan contractor for the University of NSW has been charged with a terror offence following an investigation by the New South Wales Joint Counter Terrorism Team. Police allege they found documents on the campus which contained a plan to facilitate terror attacks on 'symbolic' locations across the city. Federal Police say they have seized a number of electronic items from the man's unit at Zetland in Sydney's inner-eastern suburbs. Twenty-five-year-old Mohamed Nizamdeen has faced court and will remain behind bars after being denied bail. Image: Facebook / BYNDpictures
