Australian crime fiction author Peter Corris has died in his sleep at the age of 76. The best-selling author, whose career spanned almost four decades, is well known for his series of novels featuring a Sydney private investigator, Cliff Hardy. In 2017 Mr Corris announced he would cease writing new books as creeping blindness, brought on by his type-1 diabetes, took hold. Image: Peter Corris / News Corp Australia
