An attack on a midwife training centre in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad has killed at least three people. One of the attackers died after detonating a suicide bomb, but the second held out several hours before being killed, a government spokesperson says. A driver and two security guards were killed, and at least seven people were injured in the incident. However, 63 others – almost all women, were rescued from the compound unharmed.
